Ich arbeite im Cora Studio. Der Arbeitsraum ist akustisch behandelt und auf meine Tätigkeiten als Mixing und Mastering Engineer zugeschnitten. Der Raum ist allerdings auch für Gesangs- und kleinere Live-Aufnahmen geeignet.
I work in the Cora Studio. The main room is acoustically treated and optimized for my work as a mixing and mastering engineer. But it's also possible to do vocal and smaller live recording here.

For mixing and mastering work I rely on my trusted Strauss SE-NF-3 mastering loudspeakers as well as a pair of ProAc Studio 100, equipped with Bryston power amps and Mogami cables. As for software I use Pro Tools and plugins from multiple brands like UAD, Waves, Oeksound, Metric Halo,...

Generell ist es möglich, Gesang oder kleinere Live-Performances hier im Studio aufzunehmen. Bei Produktionen, an denen ich beteiligt bin, arbeite ich gerne mit Emely Hedel, einer tollen Vocal Produzentin, zusammen.
Generally it is possible to record vocals or smaller live performances at the studio. For productions I'm involved in I like to work with Emely Hedel, a dedicated vocal producer.

Was ist Mixing?What is mixing? |
Mixing findet nach der Aufnahme & Produktion statt. Es ist die Verbindung der einzelnen Elemente eines Songs zu einer einheitlichen Datei (Mixdown), die unabhängig vom Wiedergabemedium (z.B. CD, Vinyl, Streaming) den musikalischen Ausdruck reproduziert. Dazu zählt auch die Anpassung an die zu erwartenden Wiedergabesituationen (z.B. das Abspielen über Bluetooth-Lautsprecher, Club-Anlagen oder Kopfhörer).
Mixing takes place after recording and production. It is the combination of the individual elements of a song into a single file (mixdown) that reproduces the musical expression regardless of the playback medium (e.g. CD, vinyl, streaming). It also includes adpapting sounds to the expected playback situations (e.g. playback via bluetooth speakers, club systems or headphones).

Mastering findet nach dem Mixing statt. Es ist die Aufbereitung eines Mixdowns für ein spezifisches Wiedergabemedium (z.B. CD, Vinyl, Streaming) und die Einbettung in den daraus resultierenden Kontext sowie ggf. eine Anpassung an die Hörgewohnheiten des Kosumenten.
Mastering takes place after mixing. In this process a mixdown is prepared for a specific playback medium (e.g. CD, vinyl, streaming) and is embedded in the resulting context. It also involves decision making to target specific listening preferences.

Ich biete Mixingtarife ab 350€ (+MWSt, wenn anwendbar) pro Song an.
Jedes Projekt ist einzigartig. Der Basistarif richtet sich an mittelgroße Sessions ohne Spezialaufgaben und beinhaltet zwei Revisionen und Stem Printing. Bitte kontaktiert mich für ein genaues Angebot und gebt einen Link zu eurem Rough Mix an.
Masteringtarife beginnen ab 70€ (+MWSt, wenn anwendbar) pro Song.
I am offering mixing rates starting at 350€ (+VAT, if applicable) per song.
Every project is unique. The basic rate is aimed towards moderately sized projects without special tasks and includes two revisions and stem printing. For a precise quote please get in touch and provide your rough mix.
Mastering rates start at 70€ (+VAT, if applicable) per song.
Welche Services sind vom Basistarif ausgeschlossen?What are special services are exluded from the basic rates? |
Vom Basistarif ausgeschlossen sind ausgiebige Editingarbeiten, Comping, zusätzliche Revisionen (nach den ersten zwei) oder zusätzliche Versionen (wie Acapellas oder Vocups). Außerdem gibt es für Songs mit besonders hoher Track-Anzahl oder Überlänge eigene Tarife.
Wenn diese Services für euer Projekt benötigt werden kontaktiert mich gerne für ein genaues Angebot. Wir finden gemeinsam eine Lösung!
Excluded from the basic mixing and mastering rates are heavy editing tasks, comping, addditional revisions (after the inital two) or additional versions (like acapellas, vocups). Additionally there are also special rates for songs with a really high track count or extended song length.

Da der Arbeitsaufwand beim Mixing und Mastering selbst für kleine Projekte hoch ist, biete ich keinen Testmix oder -master an.
Since the workload is too high I don't offer test mixes or masters.
Wie soll ich meine Dateien fürs Mixing anliefern?How should I deliver my files for mixing? |
Alle Audiodateien werden im WAV-Format benötigt.
Bitte exportiert alle Audiodateien vom selben Startpunkt in der Timeline aus. Auf diese Weise können alle Spuren ohne Synchronisationsprobleme importiert werden.
Wählt für den Export dieselbe Samplingrate und Bittiefe, die für die Aufnahme der Tonspuren genutzt wurde. Ich empfehle für Musikproduktionen eine Samplingrate von 44.1kHz und eine Bittiefe von 24bit.
Achtet darauf, dass beim Export keiner eurer Tracks übersteuert.
Benennt eure Audiodateien bitte ordentlich. Einfache Track-Beschreibungen wie »Swirly_Synth.wav« oder »Main_Vocals_03.wav« sind völlig aussreichend.
Überprüft bitte vor dem Dateiexport alle Edits auf Clicks, komische Übergänge etc. Für den Fall, dass ein großer Teil der Editing-Arbeit auf mich abfällt, behalte ich mir vor einen Aufpreis zu berechnen.
Wenn möglich exportiert mir auch gerne unbearbeitete Stems.
Bitte fügt den Stems eine Textdatei bei, in der ihr Künstlername, Songtitel, Name der Veröffentlichung, BPM, Tonart und mindestens einen Referenztrack nennt.
Ladet die Stems als ZIP-Archiv bei WeTransfer, Dropbox etc. hoch und lasst mir einen Downloadlink zukommen.
All audio files are required in WAV format.
Please export all audio files from the same starting point in the timeline. This way, all tracks can be imported without synchronization problems.
Choose the same sampling rate and bit depth for the export that was used for recording the audio tracks. I recommend a sampling rate of 44.1kHz and a bit depth of 24bit for music production.
When exporting, make sure that none of your tracks are clipping.
Please name your audio files properly. Simple track descriptions like "Swirly_Synth.wav" or "Main_Vocals_03.wav" are sufficient.
Please check all edits for clicks, pops, weird transitions etc. before file export. In case I have to do a lot of editing work, there will be an extra charge.
If possible, feel free to export unedited stems too.
Please list the artist name, song title, name of the release, BPM, key and at least one reference track in a seperate text file and include it with your stems.
Upload the stems as a ZIP archive to WeTransfer, Dropbox, etc. and send me a download link.

Wann bekomme ich meinen fertigen Mix / Master?How long does it take for the initial mix / master to get finished? |
Das richtet sich ganz nach den Anforderungen des Projektes und meiner zeitlichen Verfügbarkeit. Die Bearbeitungszeit liegt bei einem Mixdown bei 3 - 5 Werktagen, bei einem Master bei 2 - 3 Werktagen. Schickt mir so früh wie möglich eine Anfrage, um etwaige Verzögerungen zu verhindern.
That depends on how demanding the project is and when I'm available. Mixing usually takes 3 - 5 week days, mastering 2 - 3 week days. Send me a request as soon as possible to avoid any delay.
